Alice, I'm in wonderland!

Hello all!  As promised, I went to the Uvillage Anthro today after a pit stop at Nordstrom to see if there were any Dwarf Quince Cardigans left and to my surprise...nothing!  Nada...null!  I was so surprised because I was just there this past Tuesday and there were at least five of them hanging there, in all sizes.  How could it go so fast?  But I guess when something is popular, they literally fly off the racks.  Many of you are probably still searching for this cardigan, so I'm sorry I could not bring any better news.  =\

Speaking of very popular sweaters, another item that's receiving a lot of buzz is the Alice in Autumn Sweatercoat.  I saw it in my store and grabbed the cream motif to try on in a Small and Medium.

The first one I tried on was a Small.  I started to feel a little flushed after putting it on, not because it was hot outside and I was wearing a sweatercoat, but because my heart was beating fast for this piece.  I LOVED it!  I mean is there another word that means MORE than love?  That word would be how I felt about this.  Seattle has very mild fall and winter weather, so I can see myself wearing this throughout the rest of the year as outer wear.  The wool was not scratchy (big point!) and the ruffles around the neckline were so darling.  I loved how it cinched at the high waist then flares out, flattering any figure.

Here I'm trying the Medium.  I felt the Small fit just a wee bit better.  It still left me enough room to layer underneath, without it looking big since I only had one layer underneath.  The bottom on the Medium also was a bit overwhelming for me, so I decided on the Small.

After trying this on, I went back to the rack to see if there were any purple motifs left (I felt the cream washed me out a little and seemed too plain).  The only one hanging was an XL.  I went up to the register to see if they can call other stores and the SA told me it's been all sold out in the few stores that had it, as well as online.  She did double-check online though and found a Small for me in the purple and I ordered it right then and there.  I am SO excited to get it, even though I won't be able to wear it for a couple of months.  The SA said this item has been so popular that if I wanted it, I should snatch it up right away.  As of this evening, this sweatercoat has only been online for less than a week, and only one small and one medium remain (according to the SA).  Having already lost out on the Dwarf Quinn, I wasn't about to let another love get away.

For those that wasn't fortunate enough to have this item at their local store, I'm thinking that there might be a second round of inventory coming your way.  The SA told me a few stores were picked this time around to test the product.  Looks like it did very well...so they might restock.

Phew...long post so sorry for being longwinded.  Here's what I wore today:

Dress: Beda Dress (Anthropologie)
Belt: Green Thumb Belt (Anthropologie)
Shoes: Seychelles (6 pm.com)

I'm home alone tonight so just relaxing with the kitty on the couch.  Pretty low key but I hope everyone is having a great Friday night.

  1. I LOOOOVE that sweater coat - while passing through my Anthro the other day they were putting them out - normally I can't handle wool, but this sweater is SO soft! I haven't tried it on, but I'm new-ish to Anthro and I can't stomach the price, especially since I bought a couple new fall/winter coats last year. I have a feeling I'm going to regret it....

  2. Ashley - The last time I got outerwear was when I was in LA...which was more than 3 years ago. Although I did get a trench coat which is more of a spring wear. So I don't feel too guilty about this purchase. :)

  3. This is beautiful, especially on you. I am incredibly tempted to buy it, and I think you're 100% right that it's already nearing sell-out. But I definitely bought myself a lot of coats last fall, and I think I need to pass on this one, for reasons of closet space alone. Can't wait to see pictures of your purple pretty when it arrives!

  5. I'm not going to love the Alice coat, I'm not going to love the Alice coat, I'm not going to love the Alice coat ...

Can I say you look fantastic in the Beda dress? I was honestly kind of meh about it before and I don't know if it is just seeing how all the blogettes all look spectacular in theirs or you just look especially great, but (belated) now, I want it.

  7. I adore that sweater coat. It's so pretty! I'm dying to see the purple. That would be the color I'd go for! Now I'm thinking that if I see it I should nab it ASAP. Despite it being 90+ degrees now!!!

That beda dress and belt look wonderful together. How cute are you!? Love it!

  12. Oh I love that belt with the Beda dress....you look awesome!!! I think the purple might look better than the cream with that sweater coat. That color will be more versatile in the fall IMO. I think a lot of people have a hard time wearing that color and not looking washed out. I only wish it came in navy....but then again I always wish everything came in navy...LOL!
