Weekend Food Adventures

Happy Sunday everyone!  I went MIA yesterday because we were out running errands the whole day!  We were able to pick up all the materials needed to start "production" on our invitations, so that's what we'll be doing for the rest of this Sunday.  We also picked up beer and wine for this fun activity.  :)

With so little time, I haven't been cooking the way I should.  I love looking up recipes online and tweaking them a little to make it my own, but I just haven't had the time.  We haven't been eating the best, but come next week, I'm getting back into the swing of things.  The Santa Monica weekend totally threw me off.

So, here's what I had for dinner last night.  Shin Ramen!!!  Seattle has some of the best sushi in the States I think, but we lack some good ramen places.  I believe there's probably three places where you can get ramen in the city and that is it.  And none of them are good compared to what I'm used to in LA.  So I end up buying instant Korean ramen and making it my own.  Actually, this particular bowl my honey made for me, but I find that the instant ramens are so comforting and just as good if you know how to spruce it up.  My parents have a rental house and the renters are Korean/Taiwanese.  We are lucky to have home made Kimchee made by a very old, but cute, Korean lady.  To spice up my ramen, the honey boiled the kimchee until it's more tender, then added an egg and clams (personally dug by my parents near the Puget Sound).  Normally I'd add green onion, but I ran out.  In addition to the packet seasonings that come with the ramen, the honey also added some sriracha sauce and a dab of sesame oil to complete it.  The result, YUMMO!  Spicy to say the least, but those that know me know I can eat very spicy foods.

My OOTD today is what I dubbed "Phun and Physical".  Haha...corny I know.  But it all started when the lovely Cat and the lovely Kathryn of In Pursuit of Pretty Things joked around about weekend OOTDs and how they are sometimes hard to put together because they live in their Lululemons.  I, of course, can relate because that's all I wear on the weekends as well.  I do everything in them because they are stylish and comfortable.  So I decided to play around with the idea and do an OOTD dedicated to my Lululemons.  :)  It's hard to accessorize or belt an Lulu outfit so I decided to dress it up with color.  Cat also said she might do a Lulu OOTD this weekend and I bet if she does, she'll look terrific!

Jacket - Nike (Macy's)
Tank - Old Navy
Pants - Lululemon
Shoes - New Balance

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend to everyone!  Tomorrow's the start of another week.  I will be sure to post up our home made invitations when they are done.  I am quite proud of them (and Chris since he did most of the work) so I can't wait to share with everyone!

  3. Aimee - Korean food is one of my favorites as well. For some reason, we always had Kimchee in our house growing up too. Haha...and I have a salt tooth in place of a sweet tooth and I love the Korean foods satisfy my salt cravings.

Cat - I can't wait to see your Lulu outfits! I have other ramen recipes I can put up as well but all of the recipes have an egg in it. :)
