Navigating blindly...

Hello all!  You know all the pictures and movies you've seen either online, on TV, in magazines, or books of Seattle?  How it's gloomy, rainy, like there's an everlasting cloud looming over us 11 months out of the year?  Welp, it sure feels that way at the moment.  We just can't get out of this weather funk.  I work for a company that owns golf courses, some of the most exclusive ones in the area so our business depends a lot on our weather holding up.  And currently, it's pretty depressing.  Some of our courses have had four inches of rainfall in the last two weeks.  I know what you're thinking though...a golf course business in Seattle?  That's irony right?  But the three months out of the year that we do get sunshine, it's just beautiful!  No one's ever seen snow capped mountains, leafy green trees, pine trees, and calming waters all at once on a nice drive home from work before.

On that note, my boss is out on maternity leave.  So I'm the Sergeant in Command now and I'm kind of doing everything blindly.  :)  I've only started this job in late February of this year so I'm still acclimating to the business.  The boss has been gone one day and already there's been things that's come up for which I don't know how to handle.  BUT...at least I can look cute doing it.  Which  brings me to my OOTD.

I love colors to brighten up a gloomy day.  This outfit makes me feel girly, but in charge!  Haha...I also love this cardigan because the buttons look like they're little clear gems.  Brings that little "bling" into the outfit.

Cardigan - Halogen (Nordstrom)
Tee - Climbing Cowlneck (Anthropologie)
Skirt - INC (Macy's)
Shoes - Seychelles
Necklace - Oh, Hello Friend
Belt - Snakebite Belt (Anthropologie)

I leave you with my darling little Chewy at Lowes.  Every time he goes to Lowes, he loves to "make" number 2 on their concrete floor!  So we put him in a cart, but since there's holes in the cart, I guess it hurts his booty.  This is the look he'd give us telling us to put something under him for comfort.  I just shake my head at how cute he is!

  1. your ootd is so cute! i think i might need to snatch up that climbing cowlneck now. i've had the pink one sitting in my cart for a couple of weeks now, so it might be about time!

and how adorable is that little Chewey?? Oh my! I just want to squish him!

hope you're not too overwhelmed at work, but the best thing to do when you don't know what to do is just be honest about it and don't beat yourself up. you're learning and i'm sure people will understand!

  5. Aimee - Yep, this is the pink color and I just love it. It's super comfortable too FYI. I love the fabric tees at Anthro cause it just feels like I have nothing on! :)

Carol - Awww...I love that name, Kate. Chris and I were going to name our daughter (if we have a girl) Catelynn. And might I add that all the Kates I know in the world are classy girls...case in point: Kate Blanchet, Kate Winslet, Kate Beckinsale. :) Minus Kate Gosselin of course!

Sammie - Isn't it too early to be 10 pm? :P I always look forward to your comments at around 10:20 or so every night. Haha.

Sara - These shoes are AMAZING! I wore them in my engagement pics and we walked quite far on the rail road tracks and pebbled ground and my feet still were comfortable. I have the brown color. My vote is to get them and unlike other Seychelles, they run pretty true to size vs. being too big.
