Expect showers this weekend...

Well, not really!  This weekend's going to hit high 80's to low 90's here in Seattle.  If you close your eyes, perk your ears up and listen very carefully, you can already hear whining coming out of the northwest corner of the country about the upcoming heat.  That's right, I said it!  We Seattlites are wusses when it comes to heat...but one person that's not complaining is me.  And why?

Well, this Saturday is my bridal shower.  My lovely Matron of Honor, Jean along with the rest of my bridesmaids helped put this together.  I don't really have any clue as to what they have planned specifically, but all I know is to show up at my house at 2 pm!  It's at my house since it was the most practical gathering area.  And with the newly built deck and patio furniture, we can spend most of the time outdoors.  I'll be seeing some of my girl friends whom I haven't seen in close to a year!  I'm super looking forward to it.  Jean, who know me so very well, said it's going to be a wine and cheese themed shower.  I have a weakness for wine and cheese, lets hope I don't stuff my face and won't be able to fit into my wedding dress.

Which is a perfect lead into the fact that I'll be picking up my wedding dress on the same day...but earlier in the day.  I always get so nervous before a fitting.  But I'm sure everything will be A-OK!

So, what am I wearing to my shower you ask?  The lovely Anthropologie Camilla Dress of course!  A white dress is perfectly appropriate to wear on a hot summer's day as a bride-to-be, no?
From white dresses to little black ones, Aimee over at all things aimee asked her readers to submit little black dresses for a special post.  Of course being a huge fan of Aimee's blog, I had to submit something.  I bought this dress three years ago for a holiday party at the previous company I worked for.  Chris and I worked for the same firm, and he was coming to LA to join me at my office and the next week I was flying up to Seattle to join his.  Fun eh?  I found this dress in Fashion Island while I was working for a client in Orange County.  It's a BCBG Studio dress from their limited edition collection.  It's super comfortable and one of those dresses with so much give, you can fit into it whether you're a size 2 or 8!  Too bad you can't see little flower detail that's near the left boobie.  :)

Have a wonderful rest-of-your day!

  7. I hope you have a fabulous time at your bridal shower and that your dress is exactly as you remembered it. And perhaps the weathermen will be wrong and you'll get some cooler weather this weekend!

PS -- I love Fashion Island. My parents live in Orange County, so I spent a lot of time lusting after all the wonderful (and wonderfully pricey) clothes being sold there. The "Fashion Island" name always seemed a little funny to me -- it sounds a little too much like "Treasure Island," and we know that didn't end well for anyone!
