Make-up and hair trial

Good evening everyone!  Tonight was my make up and hair trial at my house and I've taken a couple of pictures to show you all.

A couple of things I need to change up for the wedding, I need more dramatic eyes and foundation.  After looking at myself in these photos, I really don't know how my make up will come off in my photos.  I feel it's a little light?  What do you guys think?

Hair wise, I'm pretty happy with it.  I really liked that she was able to put some height at the crown and the back detail was beautiful.

What do ya think?

  1. Absolutely gorgeous Cindi! I love it and I think your makeup looks very natural, which suits you, I think. The hair is perfection! I'm so excited about your big day. You're an absolutely beautiful bride.

  3. The hair is gorgeous! If you want more dramatic eyes, may I suggest false eyelashes? You can try a few different ones to find the "right" ones. But usually false lashes does the trick!

Regardless, you're gonna look beautiful on your big day! YAY!

  4. You look so pretty!! I do think you should go for a more matte foundation- it will look great in photos!

    I love your hair!!!

  5. Those ringlets are beautiful! And I love the natural look for your makeup, but if you want to amp it up, go for it -- it's your day to go all out!

  8. Hey Cindi
You look so so naturally beautiful, that hair is perfect and I love the little flower.
I love the fresh-faced look on you, but I also think you could go for a bit more makeup. Perhaps play up one feature more - be it your eyes, cheeks or lips (but not all 3!). I remember i wanted a "natural" look for my big day too. I didn't want to look like a clown on my wedding day. The makeup artist did a subtle smoky eye on me but did my lips in a natural pink colour (you can check out some wedding pics on my blog - it was my first post!). Oh and yes, as Sammie said -try false lashes! they are an asian girl's best friend - REALLY! I got them done once and could never go back to mascara!
Sorry for this long comment! I was a bride not long ago.. hehehee
I look forward to seeing the whole she-bang on your big day! No doubt you will look absolutely gorgeous!
    Cheers

  9. beautiful! absolutely stunning!

i do suggest a heavier eye. I didn't wear false eyelashes because I didn't want to deal with irritation or the possibility of one flipping out but I do go kind of heavy on the eye and it looks completely natural in pictures. It's hard to strike a balance because you want to look good for pictures, but you want to look fabulous in the moment and not too made up. I wore bare essentials makeup because it's what I wear everyday so it felt natural to me and a lot of blogs said that it would make me look shiny, but I didn't find that to be the case either.

I say stick to what you are used to and go a bit heavier on the eye so they pop in pictures. I don't know about the false eyelashes, they always look "false" to me.

    Either way, your gorgeous!

  10. you know what, on second thought, I think you features do pop- you look very fresh faced- I don't think you need anything

  11. Your hair and make up look gorgeous! You like you but only better, which is the best way to go! I"m no expert, but maybe you want to follow your intuition and just enhance the makeup a bit more for pictures and lighting. But i'm not an expert! Looking at these pics I think they look fresh faced and wonderful!!!

  12. Thats a good point actually - stick to what you are used to, what you're comfortable with. If you don't feel comfortable with something, then it will show in the photos. I had two trials -first was a disaster - the makeup was caked on to the max and even my husband couldnt recognise me! luckily, i changed MU artists and was much happier!

  13. So so so so gorgeous, Cindi!! You look absolutely beautiful! I love your hair and your make up looks really pretty, too. I agree with some of the above comments that you could go with a heavier eye, if you are comfortable. Either way, just make sure that YOU love it :)

  14. Love the hair with the flower! Don't change a thing with that! You makeup looks very natural and flawless, but since you are wearing a formal dress, you might want to try heavier eye makeup. I would like to see what that looks like for comparison. Either way you can't go wrong! You look beautiful!

  15. Oh, so pretty, Cindi! I love how you look with this makeup and hair! Sometimes wedding makeup looks so overdone, and this looks quite nice. I can't wait for your big day! Haha, it's almost like I'm going myself!

  16. ACK you look so pretty! I wish my hair would curl like that! You're going to be a beautiful bride!

  17. Gorgeous! I love your hair! The ringlets are absolute perfection, and I love the flower hair accessory!

As for the makeup, if you and your artist have time for a second trial, maybe see if they can experiment with the heavier eye makeup so you can see the difference. Sometimes I find that when you ask for something different it can end up a little more dramatically different than you originally intended. Or if you can't, then as your artist is applying your makeup on the day of, do frequent "checks" to make sure it's coming out how you like.

And I'm with Sammie and Jen - huge fan of the lashes! A good artist can apply the individual lashes that won't look so fake, but will still amp up your eyes.

That said, you are going to be a gorgeous bride. Yay! =)

  18. I love the hair and the soft romantic makeup. You look beautiful!

I did false eyelashes(which i loved) for the day and palyed up my eyes a bit more but mostly because i wore my glasses and i wanted them to pop.

  19. Hi Cindi,

I also highly suggest false eyelashes. I am Asian like you and it helped a lot to make my eyes more dramatic. I was really doubting that it will look good at first since I normally don't wear any eye make up on normal days. It made all the difference in our pictures!

I've never left a comment here (I'm a lurker) but I want to wish you all the best for your wedding and especially your marriage. Such an exciting time, albeit a little stressful :) Enjoy every minute of it though since it only happens once in a lifetime!

  20. you look gorgeous!!!! love the hair a lot

your make up looks lovely but i think adding more eye makeup would be even better! i always think i'm wearing a ton of makeup, then i see a photo and it looks like i'm not wearing any! and the other day i thought i looked like a tranny with so much makeup on (i was doing an experiment) and i liked the way my makeup looked in photos so much better.

  21. How did I miss this post?!

Your hair looks fantastic! It's soft yet polished and so pretty!

As for the makeup, I think you look great personally, but I also prefer the more natural look. Just be careful that whatever you're going for may look one way in photos but another when you're face to face with your guests! (Boy, that sure doesn't help, does it).

  22. I agree with you that the makeup should be more dramatic (particularly the eyes), but the hair looks GORGEOUS!!!!!!

  23. Oh you look so pretty! I am so excited for you that your wedding is coming up! I think the eye portion needs more punch. I second the fake eyelashes comments. When else are you going to wear them? I am dying over the hair soooo pretty and I love the flower clip- gorgeous!

  24. Cindi - maybe I'm crazy, but the very first thing I noticed was your eyes in these photos. You are so beautiful girl! I love how natural and not over-done the makeup is. Maybe a smidge more on the eyes, but really, this look is gorgeous and the hair is perfect!

  25. Hi Cindi, one of the first thing I noticed about the make-up is that I think you need just a little more color. I love that you're going with a natural look, but maybe a little more blush? Not sure. Or maybe the lip gloss need to slight more rosy touch? That said, I think you look gorgeous and your hair is perfect. PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT!

I love that the make-up looks like you, and not overly done. It could just be the yellowish lighting. How do you feel about it?

  26. Tien - You're totally right. It's just not enough all around I think. I'm not sure if you've seen my engagement pictures or not, but I really liked how he brought my eyes out. When I went to wipe the make up off that night (about 3-4 hours after it was applied) the amount that came off was less than what I usually wear for work. I think she was way too conservative and am totally iffy about her now.

  27. I have seen your engagement photos, and I think you're lovely in them. But you're right, the make-up is fine for day wear, but on your special day, it just needs to be a little more special. I think a rosier blush and maybe a touch more color to the lips is going to make you a gorgeous, blushing bride!

  28. Very cute hair Cindi! I think maybe a little more drama with the eyes or color on the cheeks to pop in the pics? Of course pro photogs are much better than our regular lil point and shoots! No doubt your will be a gorgeous bride!
