Oh Sammie and Ronnie...I Just Shake My Head At You!

The hubs and I just finished watching another jawbreaking (literally) episode of Jersey Shore.  We've been huge fans of the show since season 1 and have not ever missed an episode.  We laugh at these hilarious characters and can't believe people like these really exist.  They fight, back stab, cry, hate eachother, then go dance and get drunk...and make up.  Some might even "smoosh" in the love room.  I cringe when I think about whether the bedsheets have ever been washed.  EEEK!!!  *goosebumps*

My least favorite character on the show is Sammie and my second least favorite is Ronnie.  And today's episode compelled me to blogging about it.  It was THAT jawbreaking.  For those that saw it, you know what I'm talking about.  For those that didn't, Sammie punched her boyfriend, Ronnie, in the face for talking to a fellow roommate that she hates.

Violence in any shape or form is wrong.  What makes it seem "more ok" for a girl to hit a guy than a guy hitting a girl?  It shouldn't be more ok and it isn't, in my opinion.  I am so sick of Sammie and Ronnie.  Three seasons of them just going back and forth with drama is very tiring.  They're together because they are dependent on one another, not because they truly love each other.  Love does not hurt in a physical way, and for Sammie to have put a hand on Ronnie proves that there is absolutely no love left in their relationship.

At the end of the hour episode though, it turns back into the old game they always play.  Sammie puts her puppy dog face on and apologizes to Ronnie.  Ronnie tries hard to ignore her, crawls into bed while Sammie follows and spoons him.  She asks him to give her another chance, he says yes.  And they make up...yadda yadda yadda....happily ever after.  If one good thing came out of this episode, it was that at the end, Sammie and Jenni made up.  I'm interested in seeing where that's gonna go.  We shall see!

  1. I used to watch the show, but haven't watched this season (yet). Sammie is my least favorite too. She does nothing but cry, fight, and cause drama!

  2. lol, I haven't watched Jersey Shore but I've heard a lot about Snookie. So many psycho chicks on reality TV these days. I am still HOOKED on The Bachelor. Whoooaaa, the cat fights are getting CRAZIER than ever. Yawn, just got done reading my book, browsing the blogs and I'm gonna hit the sack now. Gute nacht.

  3. you know, that's so unacceptable. They both perfectly fall into the cycle of Domestic Violence and it's disgusting that this is allowed to play out. Don't get me wrong-I laugh at the antics and I laughed when JWoww and Sammi got into it, when Snooki and Sammi got into it, but I cannot tolerate a man hitting a woman or a woman hitting a man. If it were reversed, Ronnie would have been booted, police called, and we'd watch him sitting in jail waiting to be bailed out. I hope MTV addresses this or something.

But on a side note, I am shocked that while "MVP" booze it up and sleep around, they seem to be the most "responsible" ones!!! Relatively speaking of course :)

  4. I've never watched a an episode of Jersey Shore - is this one of those scripted "reality" tv shoes like the Hills? I think i've seen pictures of Snooki in magazines, and my opinion of her is not a very positive one, but then again i've never watched her on tv!

  5. Aw girl, I missed this week's episode! And I've never missed an episode!

Mike is my favorite character - I think I like the guys better because they are ridonkerously hilarious.

And for me, what makes this show stand out and seem "refreshing" is that these folks are outlandish and over-the-top and they are fully aware of it!

  6. I boycotted the show when it first came out and was always the first to ridicule it b/c it was just so outlandish and I could not fathom how it gained such rapid popularity. Then...(that's how it starts) I was watching TV one night and curiosity got the best of me. I saw an entire episode of Season 2. Then another. Then another. And then I had to get up and take a shower b/c I was so distraught with what I'd just witnessed and needed some form of cleansing! I've watched the first episode of this season (there I go again) and I definitely agree with you that it's such a double-standard when it comes to violence: if it was a guy hitting a girl, he'd be kicked off the show, but instead we're learning how it's okay for a girl to hit a dude in the face, and then cuddle moments later! Absurdity (even though now I want to go catch that episode)!!!

  7. All Ladies - Your comments are so hilarious! I also boycotted the show, like some of you guys but then it just sucked me in. I remember when my best friend was here, she and her bf never watched an epy b efore, and when we had it on, they were glued!!! I couldn't get them to watch anything else. And yeah, the double standard is just ridiculous. I hate how insecure Sammie is and how jealous she gets whenever Ronnie talks to anyone! She's so annoying to me! Yet I still watch! Haha.

Jen - Jersey Shore is more like The Real World but with dirty Jersey people! It's a lot of partying and relationship drama but it's fun to watch. Nothing as high class as the hills!

Pamela - I love the MVP!! All the guys are like the cleaner people in the group too. The girls are nasty!

  8. I've never watched this show, and now I'm much less likely to. Ugh. Domestic violence, co-dependence, bad behavior - these people need therapy, not a tv show.

  9. I love Jersey Shore and I'm not afraid to admit it. Sammie and Ron, however, are not in a healthy relationship and I hate watching them. Give me more Pauly D!

  10. These two are terrible - what horrible characters to show on TV.

Good picture - really shows the Sammie crazy!

  11. All that drama on the Jersey Shore was pretty intense on the channel MTV! I couldn't look away, I'm glad I was able to watch it all go down in HD with DISH Network. As a DISH employee I get over 200 HD national channels. That’s more than any other TV provider. You should check out DIshNetwork.com for more info.
