C-O-A-T!

Happy Hump Day everyone!  (Oh boy, this week just passed me by...I totally didn't realize I typed in happy hump day...I meant Happy Thursday!!)  It's a gorgeous fall day today...with highs of 74!!!!

I was preusing the Anthro site this morning and since nothing in clothes attracted me, I went into their home section and found these:

I'm a huge fan of classily monogrammed items and these little hooks are so cute.  We have a wall near our entrance of our front door that's just bare right now...so I thought what better way to use that wall for some coat hooks.  We can also use these hooks for car keys as well.  I bought 4 of these...spelling out COAT.  I can't wait!

In with the coat theme, if you've been reading and following, you know that I purchased the Clinton Trench in neutral earlier this summer.  I then went and got the Idra Cream Confection Coat and was going to return the trench since both are similar color and had ruffled styling.  But recently, I noticed they came out with a new Clinton Trench in the navy colorway.  Well...I have always wanted to look for a good navy coat, and this is just the right one.  I've decided to return the neutral and get the navy.  YAY!
Also, thanks to everyone that commented on my entry yesterday about iPhone apps.  All last night I was downloading apps...including Open Table, Shazam, Camera Bag, TiltShiftGen, Gorilla Cam, Lose It, My24, Balance...to name a few.  I played around with the Camera Bag app after taking my OOTD today and this is what I ended up with.

Please excuse my puffy face...I believe I have a cold sore (I know...TMI???) and my thyroid or salivary glands were affected by it...so my face was more poofy than normal for the last couple of days.  Yuck!!!  It's starting to get better now though.

And I leave you with my kitty!

We went to Petsmart the other day and got him a new tag and collar.  His old one was so frayed and I swear, he he must have worn that last collar for 10 years.  His new collar is so adorable...it's blue (to match his soft paws) with an argyle pattern.  And to go with the preppy theme, the font we got on his tag was a collegiate font and on it below our address, we put "Can I haz some friezzz" in case he gets lost and the people nice enough to take him in knows he LOVES fries and gives him some.  :)

Have a great day everyone!

  1. I love those lettered hooks. I have two in our bathroom-one with an M and one with a P for Mr. M and my towels. They are so fun and I LOVE the idea of spelling COAT! What a cool idea!

Speaking of coats, girl, I want that navy Clinton Trench like nobody's business. I am so jealous! I can't wait to see it on.

Take care of yourself! You look fab, regardless :)

  2. OMG those hooks are adorable! I can never do monogrammed stuff because Husband and I have different last names, but spelling out COAT is just too great! I might have to steal that!

And I'm loving the trench in the new color. I have a khaki trench (the Two Paths one from last winter), but a navy one would be lovely! Eeek!

  3. I want those hooks. I would get D. O. G. :) I have a coat similar to that navy one. It was in the last spring collection--Idra, navy with ruffling. Such lovely coats! I always get a ton of compliments when I wear it.

  5. Pamela - My eyes went 0_0 when I saw the clinton in the navy. It's so hard to find something in navy it seems so I'm glad they came out with this.

Kathleen - Haha you are more than free to steal that idea of the coat hooks. I also thought it'd be cute to hang in the bedroom and spell out "LOVE" but hang pictures of Chris and I on them. :)

Liz - Haha...you can hang Bogart's leash, poopie bags and outfits on the hooks. That'd be so cute!

  6. Jen - I get pimples sometimes too but I'd like to believe that I'm still young! :) I just saw the clinton trench on Jan from The Girliest Mom and it just looks so good on her. I can't wait to get it.

  11. Jan - I can't wait to wear it either. After seeing the navy on you, I really love it! I can't wait to get it.

Lori - Thank you! Have you considered trying on the clinton trench? I think it'll look great on you and your little figure! :)

LC - Ahh! Haha...I'd say order both and keep your favorite. You still have the Cream Confection Coat right? That is similar to the clinton as well.

  18. Those hooks are super cute - I really need to keep my eye on their home stuff a little more because they have some of the cutest stuff. I really love that Clinton Trench. I was just thinking this morning should I have gotten that over the CC Jacket? Ahh choices, choices!

  19. Hello there!

So I totally stumbled upon your blog as I was searching "Clinton Trench." Yup, you guessed it.. I LOVE that coat! I've only seen it online, but when it first came out I thought my gosh this is beautiful, and that was after I saw a girl in my class wearing the beige one. It sold out so quick like it was nobody's business! I've been waiting for them to bring it back, and what do you know, they have! In navy of course. I thought it was black, but it is definitely navy. I want to get it ASAP before I lose it.. AGAIN!

Can you give me any advice on if you like the navy? I never thought I'd want a navy coat. Black is so versatile, but do you find the navy goes with a lot of things? I would want it in beige but we know that's not an option! lol What size did you end up buying, and regular or petite? My stores nearby are all sold out, and I must opt to buy online, and must do so quickly!

    I'd appreciate the help! (:

  20. Hello Michelle,
I try to shy away from black coats as much as possible because I think it's just too boring. Having one good versatile piece is good enough. I chose the navy because it goes well with tights in the fall and it's also a spring-ey color as well. The navy will also go well with skinny jeans and boots. But I think the neutral will have the same affect. I chose the navy because I already have a couple of neutral coats and have nothing yet in navy. Also, I'm 5'5" so I'm never a petite so I ended up getting the 10 in regular. I wanted to make sure I can layer underneath but I tried the 8 on originally and it fit great. I say if you're under 5'3", then order the petite. My friend who's 5'2" and a half said she tried the petite on and it fit her perfectly. Hope this helps!!!
