A Sale and a Forgotten Outfit

Hello everyone!  Hope you're enjoying your week so far.  We're halfway through it, so for those of you struggling, hang in there!  The weekend is just around the corner.

So did anyone score any good items today at the surprise sale?  I decided that I wanted to check out a couple of chemises since they went on sale.  I've heard other bloggers talk about how you can style an Anthro chemise into a dress, but at full price, I still hesitated.  A couple of cute styles got marked down today, so I pulled the trigger:

If these work, I can see myself wearing these in the summer and in colder weather, like we're having right now.  Reviews online said they're both cute with tights and long cardis...my favorite outfit of the season.

I also realized I forgot to take a recent OOTD...but below are pictures I took when I was in the dressing room trying this Frenchi sweater at Nordstrom BP.  I'm typically a layering type of girl, but some days, I just want to put on a nice, warm sweater and call it good!  Nothing fancy...just sleek and simple.  When I saw this Frenchi sweater, I immediately grabbed it to try on because 1). it was long enough to cover with my legging knit pants (the pants I'm wearing in the picture), and 2). it was not thick or bulky.

Needless to say, I was totally comfortable in this the whole day and didn't want to take it off when I got home.  I was afraid the horizontal stripes might make me feel wide, but because of the long shape of the sweater, it didn't make me feel that way at all.  Always a plus when you find out you don't look wide...right girls? :)

Before I leave, if anyone's in dire need of some warm and fuzzies, click here and check out my babies!

  1. Can't wait to see what you think of the chemises! I especially like the layers of the first one.
And I love that sweater on you! The length is so flattering - I recently got one that same length and am obsessed with it. I'm a huge fan of putting on a cozy sweater and calling it good :)

  2. Erin - It's different than your typical Anthro wear, but the outfit above made me feel great! I should get more sweaters like this! :)

  3. That looks like a comfy sweater and looks great on you. Nothing on sale has caught my eye, but I did just purchase the rippled and ribboned sweater and have my eye on their newest shirt called the Vitalize blouse. Drool, but no more spending money for awhile. :(

  4. That's my kinda comfy outfit! I think you are much braver in the cold than I am Cindi. That's like my normal, everyday - below 78degrees type outfit. Your furbabies are too cute! Can't wait to see how you style your chemise/dresses!

  5. Your OOTD is so cozy and comfortable looking. That's my kind of look!!!

I just bought the chemise with the birds on it and can't wait to style it up. The two you bought are so pretty and feminine. I can't wait to see what you do with them!

  6. Oh, I wanted to ask. What kind of camera did you use to take those pictures of Chewie?

  7. Liz - The camera we have is a Canon 7D. But I think what matters is the lense, which is a 50 mm prime. Only $100! You can get the same affect with just about any DSLR that's cheaper. Doesn't necessarily have to be a 7, 5 or 1D! :)

Vivian - HAHA...75 is actually my comfort zone. Anything too hot is unbearable to me. I lived in Manhattan Beach and it always stayed around 78 with a breeze...which was perfect for me. Whenever I go into LA to work, it's always so hot in the summer time.

Pamela - YAY!!!! I'm so glad you were able to get the cowlneck. I think it'll look so perfect on you!! Can't wait to see it. And I was also eyeing the birds chemise but decided to go for the Interpretation Chemise instead.

  8. I just had a look at your fuzzies - how adorable! I just want to cuddle up to them both :-)
I can definitely picture the chemises as dresses. I especially love the layered skirt of the first one. I can't wait to see you in them.
Ah yes, horizontal stripes! The sweater is flattering on you and when worn with black tights, you look very sleek and chic.
