Special Edition - Our Wedding Day (Picture Heavy Post)

Hello everyone!  Our busy photographer Erwin Wijanto uploaded our wedding pictures this last night all the way from Jakarta Indonesia!  I was so excited and of course, had to share with you guys as soon as I got the chance.  Let me take you on a journey of our special day on August 28th, 2010.

 We had strawberries for the champagne at the hotel room and Erwin was so smart to stick my ring into one of them.  It turned out great!

My grooms gift (the iPad) I had stuffed in an intercompany envelope.  On it I wrote a task list and the first thing on the list said "Get Married".  :)

This was such a sweet shot of my dad...watching his only child get ready in her wedding gown.

Chris got a little emotional after I read my vows to him.  I'm so glad Erwin caught me wiping away his tears.  This was such a tender moment.

During the reception, we showed a video we made for our parents.  It was quite a project as Chris and I were working endless hours to get that done.  In the video I talked about my parents and their sacrifice for me  and then Chris talked about his parents along with old pictures we had of them.  Erwin was able to catch their reaction during the video.

Immediately following the parents video, we had our father/daughter, mother/son dances.  At this point my dad was a bit tipsy from his Johnny Walker Green Label.  He said to me, "I'm dizzy" as we danced.  :)

My Uncle was a hit at the wedding!  Everyone LOVED him.  He had a little too much to drink and was all over the dance floor!

Phew!  THANK YOU for staying with me through this entry.  Seeing these pictures helped me relive that wonderful day again.  Like Sara at You, Me, and Anthropologie, I too believe that the best money spent throughout our whole wedding process was for the photographer.  We totally splurged on Erwin, but it was so worth it.  We'll have these pictures for the rest of our lives and each time I look at these, I'll be reminded of how great the day was for both Chris and me.

Also, THANK YOU Erwin for being such a great photographer, vendor, and friend.  Erwin is so professional and such a great person.  It's rare to find someone like him in this industry.  Erwin gets back into the country this week so we're planning on meeting up with him for dinner.  It turns out he's practically our neighbor!  We live a mile away from one another!

Tomasina Blazer - This blazer has an interesting story behind it.  When I went to Anthro for the first time with Jill, my sister-in-law, she pulled this one to try on.  It looked wonderful on her, so I tried it on as well and we both loved it.  But at $128...there was no way we'd pay for it.  And finally it went on sale!  I had to snatch it up in the black.  The online picture of this looks a little odd though as the collar is flipped out.  But trust me, when it's on, it looks great!

Anticipation Heels Revealed!

Hello all!!!  It's a chilly and foggy Wednesday morning here in Seattle.  The sun is breaking through but I heard it'll be one of the last days for a long while that we get to see the sun.  When November nears, I heard we'll be in danger of flooding in certain areas.  November and December are usually our wettest times of the year.  Eek!

So...I wanted to mention that Sammie of Oui Sammie and I did meet up on Friday night and let me just say, we had a blast.  I kicked myself at the end of the night when we've already parted ways and I realized I forgot to snatch up a picture.  But I guarantee this won't be the last we'll meet up...so next time I'll definitely capture us in photo.  From her blog, I couldn't tell Sammie was such a funny, energetic, light hearted, and talkative person.  There was never an awkward moment and even after more than two hours of nonstop chatting, I felt like there were still a lot to gab about.  I'm excited for our next meeting!

Also, Jamie from Thrifty Threads is blogging for breast cancer "awearness" this month.  She's going to try to wear pink everyday for the month of October.  I was inspired by her dedication, so I've decided to try to incorporate as much pink as I can in my daily outfits.  And here's today's:

Yep...those are the much anticipated Anticipation Heels!!!  Let me just tell ya...they are so comfortable.  And girls, if you're thinking of buying, size down half a size.  These are size 8's and I can't even remember the last time I've worn an 8.  The leather will also stretch a little as you wear them.  So definitely size down.

It's been a few days since my hair cut and I still love it!  It's so effortless to get ready in the mornings now...which is always good.  A few minutes of more sleep in the mornings makes a happy Cindi!  Here's a closer look at how I styled it yesterday morning (also I was wearing a pink cardi for pink month!).

PWC - Post Wedding Chop

Hello all!  I was under the weather yesterday and stayed at home to rejuvenate but I'm back today!  This past weekend I finally was able to get my PWC...post wedding chop!  My long wedding hair was killing me so I was excited about taking some of the length off.  I decided this time I'd try a boutique salon in my favorite Seattle neighborhood...Ballard.  There are several smaller salons there but I've never been inclined to try them.  I've heard good things about Tart, a salon with just four stylists, each of them rent a desk from the owner.  It's discreet store front is easy to miss if you're not paying attention.  You enter through a glass door just to go downstairs, turn a few corners and you're at the salon. 

My stylist, Rachel, was really hard to get an appointment with.  She's the one with the shaved head on the right.  I had to wait almost three weeks for a Saturday appointment with her. 

And voila!  I didn't expect her to chop off this much, but after I saw the result, I loved it.  I felt so much lighter and this gives me the opportunity to grow it out however I like it.  It felt so bouncy and fun! 
Since I lost a couple of pounds of hair, I had to get it back somehow.  For dinner that night...here's what the hubs and I had...

Five guys double cheeseburger with bacon!  Oh boy...once I downed this, I had no room for anything else.  This was right after we watched Social Network, which I will review during a later post.  :)

And before I leave you, I finally got a chance to see Chewy while my parents were over this weekend.  And what a cutie he is!

Friday Movie Preview and a Happy Hour!

Happy Friday!  I'd normally bring you Anthro reviews today but I decided to do something a little different.  I don't know about you guys but one of my favorite things to do is go to the movies with my husband.  I know it's such a small thing...but it's those small things that make us happy.  We typically go to movies in the late afternoons and all the theaters we go to allow outside coffee...so we bring our caffeine drinks of choice in to enjoy our movie.

Last weekend we watched Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.  A few weekends before, we saw the original Wall Street and loved it.  Michael Douglas holds a dear place in my heart because one of the first movies I saw with my dad was....are you ready for this....Fatal Attraction!  His university used to hold student movie nights in the summer and they're free.  Being my dad...free is good!  So he brought me to watch movies every weekend.  I don't think he even checked what was playing so when it was Fatal Attraction, it sort of traumatized me for a bit.  The rabbit scene scared me so much that I couldn't sleep during the night.  At the time my parents and I shared a one bedroom apartment and I crawled into their bed at night.  I was 8 years old.  :)  It's funny thinking back though.

Anyway, a tangent.  This sequel to Wall Street in a way underwhelmed me.  I won't give away the details to those that still want to see it, but I thought the storyline could be better.  I wished it focused on one "villain" so that the betrayal or revenge within the story is more dramatic than what they made it.  I also can't stand the Katie Holmes look-a-like girlfriend of Shia LeBouff.  Her character is the stereotypical "my father was never there for me so I hate him and life" character way too overplayed in other movies we've all scene.  And lastly, Shia LeBouff...I'm not sure if he was a believable Wall Street whiz kid.  I think he has his shining moments as an actor.  Some people can't stand him, some love him.  I'm just indifferent.  But for me to believe he's an expert at derivatives, shorts, leveraging and financial models is a stretch.  Overall though, it was still entertaining and we walked out of the theater feeling like we didn't waste our money.  But then again, I love any movie set in New York! :)

Anyhoo, tonight I'm going to a happy hour to meet up with a reader and fellow blogger.  Sammie of Oui Sammie moved to the Seattle area not too long ago so from the Bay Area.  We've been in contact through email for the past few months and now that I have more free time after the wedding, we've decided to finally meet up for a couple of drinks at a wine bar/restaurant.  I'm really excited to meet and get to know a fellow reader.  I plan on meeting others as well some time in the future so Lori and LC...get ready! :) 

Here's what I'm wearing for this meeting:

I'm so glad I purchased the Vagabond Dress at full price.  I don't believe it ever made it to sale (I could be wrong).  But this dress was my "go to" dress this past summer and I'm so glad it's able to transition nicely to fall.  The thicker material didn't bother me at all during our mild summers and it's heavy fabric keeps me warm on this 52 degree morning. 

P.S. My face is almost back to normal from its bloatedness.  :)  Happy Friday again!
