I was recently tagged by Spiffy to reveal seven interesting facts about myself...so here they are. I'm not sure if they're truly interesting or just plain boring, but you can judge for yourself. :)
1. I'm mad for Mad Men! This past Thanksgiving weekend, my husband and I finished three seasons of Mad Men and I'm hooked. I love Jon Hamm and his Don Draper character. I think it's one of the best shows on television and I just can't get enough.
2. I wear ear plugs to sleep. Not all the time, but most nights. I'm an extremely light sleeper...the tiniest sound can wake me up so the plugs help with muffling white noises.
3. I can't go to the movies or eat alone at a public restaurant. I know many people do it and enjoy it, but I just can't. It feels too awkward and lonely to me.
4. My current musical obssession is Taylor Swift. Her new album "Speak Now" is my favorite of hers so far and have been listening to it everyday for about a week now.
5. It was only about two years ago that I discovered Anthropologie and have started to develop my own sense of self when it comes to fashion. Prior to that, my wardrobe consisted of cargos/sweats and tees on the weekends and slacks and sweaters during work days.
6. I'm a pretty adventurous eater and will try anything once. Last year in China, I tried butterfly larva and it was oddly delicious. The only thing I'm hesitating over is balut...which is a duck egg with a developed chick embryo, boiled and eaten like a hardboiled egg. It's a Filipino delicacy, but I'm just scared by the thought of it.
7. I'm deathly afraid of heights. No joke! If I'm on a bridge, a cliff, a roof, any place that's exposed and highly elevated, I automatically think of death! Even standing on a chair to screw in a light bulb, I think of the worst...like falling and breaking my neck.
With that, I leave you with our Christmas tree we put up last night. The tree itself, all lit, always make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. You can't see it clearly from the picture, but there's actually an Anthro box undernearth it. :)
Have a great day before Friday!

I love Jon Hamm, and he's a fellow alumni of my alma mater! Also, I'm an incredibly light sleeper as well - I use a fan and a noise machine to help me sleep!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you can help! My brother and his wife are hosting a Mad Men Christmas party, and I have no idea what to wear! Any suggestions? I don't watch the show!
ReplyDeleteI love "Speak Now"- I got the mp3 version off Amazon for only $3.99... SO good! I love her revenge song about Camilla Belle (number 10 I think). I also like the December song about the guy from Twilight.
Definitely interesting! Does your fear of heights extend to traveling by plane? I am the total opposite about trying new foods - I'm worse then my kids! I loved reading this! And your tree looks beautiful - I love that their is already an Anthro box waiting for a good little girl on Christmas morning ;)
ReplyDeleteI have a fear of bridges too, but I'm not afraid of being high up, I'm afraid that the car is going to drive off the bridge and I won't be able to get out of it because I can't get the seatbelt off or because I freeze to death!
ReplyDeleteAshley - Yeah he's from St. Lou! I think he is SO hot and I can't imagine anyone playing that part now.
ReplyDeleteRobin - Haha. That sounds like a great party! Actually, if you have a shirt dress like the beda dress from Anthro, just wear that. Then curl your hair to look like the 60's, wear some black framed glasses, closed toes heels and go as a secretary! :) Oh and don't forget red lipstick!
Jan - Actually I'm not afraid of flying. It's more exposed places. I'm ok in a sky scraper too. At least I know I won't physically fall out. :)
I envy you're willingness to try new foods. I try really hard but there are just some things I can't bring myself to consider. sometimes I feel like I'm really missing out.
ReplyDeleteI love prelit trees. My mom gave us one last year and it looks great. I love all the lights on your tree. It looks so festive!
I love your tree! This reminds me we should go get a tree this weekend. Decorating the Christmas tree is always a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI am exactly like you on 3, 5, 6, 7. So sweet you got an anthrobox already. I am just hoping I don't get another computer mouse>_<
What a fun list! And I love your tree! It's so pretty! There's nothing like Christmas lights on a tree...*happy sigh*
ReplyDeleteBalut is delicious! :) I know it sounds pretty scary and gross... but good balut should only be partially developed, not to the point that they show on Fear Factor! Try it! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Cindi!
ReplyDeleteOhhh i love Mad Men too, more so for the fashions - aren't they great!?
I've been listening the Taylor Swift, the Fearless album, on the plane that is :-) it's quite catchy!
Not sure about that balut..the sound of it is vomit-worthy...and now makes me think twice about eggs! oh dear!
Nice tree...and i wonder what could be in that Anthro box?
Pamela - Sometimes yes, you can miss out. But other times I wished I didn't try what I tried. Haha!
ReplyDeleteInkmark - You are too funny! But the box under the tree wasn't a gift from the hubby. It ws what I ordered from weeks ago...I just haven't opened it yet. You'll see what's inside soon tho!
Carol - I know...a Christmas tree lit up always puts a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart. I just love how it makes our house instantly feel festive.
Irene - Ooh...that's what my husband says (he's Filipino). But I'm just so scared. Just the thought of the *crunch*....eeeeek! But I will try it though I'm sure...someday.
Jen - Aww...haha sorry about that! Chicken eggs are of course great and yummy. And yes, watching Mad Men made me realize how fashion kind of comes full circle a lot of times. I love all the cute dresses.
Sara - You're hilarious!!! I don't think you'll ever fall off a bridge like that if you're: 1. not sleeping and 2. not drunk. Unless that bridge just decides to break in half. Haha...which probably won't happen either.
ReplyDeletePretty tree! It was fun reading your list but I had to laugh about #3 because I'm sitting here in a restaurant by myself right now. ;-) It helps when it's one with free wifi. I usually just bring a book or my Kindle so I can read and not feel so alone. My husband is like you though and hates to eat out by himself. I've only done the movie by myself once (to see a chick flick that no one else wanted to see) and it wasn't too bad.
ReplyDeletethanks for playing along :)
ReplyDeleteI am adventurous when it comes to foods- as long as it isn't animal related, which actually makes me very UNadventurous -ha!
You look so cute in your most recent post next to the tree :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all those facts! I love getting to know other bloggers :)
