A Little Aaron in the Social Network

First off, thank you to everyone that chimed in with your lovely recommendations of what purse I should get next.  The top contenders are the Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag, the Marc Jacob classic tote, and the Anthropologie Sepia Saddlebag.  Chris saw my blog yesterday and loved the MJ classic tote and the Sepia Saddlebag.  I will let everyone know when I buy it, what I decide on! :)

Last week I mentioned that my hubby and I went to watch The Social Network.  We walked out of the theater completely satisfied!  I thought the movie was very well made as long as you don't take it as a historically accurate piece of work.  The movie obviously exaggerated some of the characters and the relationships these characters had with one another.  Not only did they make Mark Zuckerberg seem like the ultimate villain, but they also made him the little puppet under Sean Parker's control.

Justin Timberlake and Jesse Eisenberg as Sean Parker and Mark Zuckerberg

Despite this, I still loved the movie.  Every movie needs a good villain, and in a sense, Mark's character was the guy that was bad in a way, but deep inside you felt truly sorry for him.  I'm also a huge fan of Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay for this.  If anyone's a West Wing fanatic like me, you know his writing style.  The characters always jibber jabber all the way through the show/movie with funny and witty dialogue.  I won't give away the movie that much but the best part was actually the very first scene in the movie where Mark's girlfriend breaks up with him, which ultimately starts the whole Facebook phenomenon.

She says to him, ''You're going to be successful and rich. But you're going to go through life thinking that girls don't like you because you're a tech geek. I want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that won't be true. It'll be because you're an a--hole."  Just loved it!

I'm also a huge fan of Jesse Eisenberg now that I've watched Zombieland.  One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while and can't wait until the sequel comes out!

Did anyone else watch The Social Network?  What did you think???

This morning I seriously did not know what to wear but all I knew was I didn't want pants!  I was determined to wear my new Anthro tights and the new Showpiece tee in navy.  And this is what I came up with:

Showpiece Tee in Navy (Anthropologie)
Cardi - Nordstrom
Skirt - Circle the Globe (Anthropologie)
Tights - Anthropologie (not sure the name of this)
Shoes - Anticipation Heels (Anthropologie)
Scarf - New York City street vendor =)
Have a lovely weekend, gals!!!

  1. I just saw Social Network - I friggin' loved it! I can't say enough good things about it - I think they took what could have been a VERY boring movie and made it truely capitavating. The only thing I didn't like about it? There was a trio of 30 or 40-somethings sitting in front of my boyfriend and I talking during the WHOLE movie. They were asking each other what coding was, what Napster is, what FACEBOOK is...clearly they were not the target audience for the film.

  2. Ashley - That sounds annoying. I hate when people talk during movies. Just watch and you'll find out! I wonder why they chose to see it if they didn't even know what FB was! Sheesh!

Mrs. LifeAccounts - YAY...we're coat twins today. It was 47 degrees this morning. So I grabbed this!

  3. I love all the shades of blue with the the tan. I'm glad that my fave Rebecca Minkoff made your bag short list:)

We saw the Social Network and looooved it! I kind of wished someone other than Justin Timberlake played Sean Parker(b/c I hate his speaking voice). The funniest...when he gets his business cards that say "I'm the CEO, b***h"HA! We laughed about that all weekend!

As an almost 40 something I have to say maybe the chatty couple were just idiots and it has nothing to do with their age:D

  5. Courtnee - I know it has nothing to do with age. :) My dad is turning 60 and he has a FB account too. Hehe. I know...that was so funny but sad at the same time about the business cards. I felt so sorry for his character though!

LC - Hey we're coat twins too!!! I think I'd def recommend Social Network to anyone just cause I love the dialogue so much!

  6. I really liked the Social Network and all I wanted to do when I got home was research the real Mark Zuckerberg and what was/wasn't true from the movie. Did you know that the twins in the movie really weren't twins, but one actor playing both guys? I knew there couldn't be two of a guy that hot :)

  7. I dig the multi blue tones!

My BF really wants to see The Social Network too, now that we've finally joined the early 2000s and are actually on FB. Glad to hear it's worth going to see!

  8. I like the bright blues with the camel color of the cream confection jacket. Good for you for not giving into pants. I was exhausted today and went the pant route, lol.

I saw the Social Network trailer last week, and it looked interesting. It didn't really look like a movie actually! more like an ad for facebook..hehe

Great outfit you put together - i'm so loving the blues against the neutrals. And again, those heels melt my heart!

    Cheers

  12. I haven't seen SN yet, but it sounds like it is worth a watch. Like Lori, I love the blue-ish teals you are wearing. They add such a nice "pop" against the camel Cream Confection.
